Barwick Equestrian is a private yard and does not operate as a riding school.*

At Barwick Equestrian we teach all level of riders, from beginners and novices through to competition level. We also train and ride all types of horses and ponies; including youngsters, hunters, pony club ponies, happy hackers and the more challenging mount. Court Farm Liveries offer excellent facilities for tuition including an outdoor rubber-surfaced school, show jumps, cross country jumps and miles of off-road hacking. Fiona is a skilled and patient rider and instructor with years of experience and specialises in the following areas:

  • Riding companionship and confidence building

  • Flatwork, dressage and pole work lessons

  • Lunging and long reining

  • Show jumping and cross country lessons

  • Schooling services - we also offer schooling and exercising as a standalone service, or to complement your lessons ensuring you make steady progress with your horse. Schooling and exercising can also be added to any of our livery packages.

At Barwick Equestrian we have talented, small jockeys who enjoy schooling and working with challenging ponies. They are lightweight, confident teenagers who help school the ponies with Fiona’s assistance. We can help get ponies off the lead rein and ready for the next stage with their young rider.

Supporting the nervous rider

Whether you lost your confidence after an accident, or haven’t ridden in 20 years, Fiona will help you rebuild your confidence, enabling you to relax in the saddle and enjoy riding again. We’ll help you look forward to your time riding instead of fearing the worst each time you set off to the school, for a hack or to a competition. Unfortunately bad experiences are inevitable in such a demanding sport. However, these situations can be overcome and most importantly, learnt from.
